Restore Your Smile In One Visit With Same-Day Crowns
What Are Same-Day Crowns?
We create same-day crowns using a technology called CEREC, which stands for chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics. Using digital imaging and CAD/CAM technology, we design, mill, and place crowns, all in a single visit. That means no temporary crowns, no follow-up appointments, and no waiting.
Benefits of Same-Day Crowns
- Convenience: Complete crown treatment in just one visit to our Spring, TX dental office.
- Comfort: Skip the temporary crown and the messy impression materials—digital scans make the process easier.
- Durability: Our CEREC crowns use high-quality ceramic that holds up for years with proper care.
- Natural Appearance: The material we use mimics the color and clarity of natural tooth enamel for a flawless result.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
Your visit starts with us gently numbing the area and preparing the tooth, just like we would for a conventional crown. Then, instead of using molds, we take a quick digital scan of your mouth. That scan lets us design a crown that fits your bite and matches your tooth’s natural shape.
Once the design is ready, we use our in-office CEREC machine to craft the crown from a solid block of tooth-colored ceramic. About an hour later, the new crown is ready for placement. Once we check the fit and give it a final polish, we’ll secure it in place. The patient leaves their appointment with a fully restored tooth and no reason to come back for a second visit.
How Long Do Same-Day Crowns Last?
A CEREC crown can last 10 to 15 years or more with good oral hygiene and regular checkups. Patients should brush twice a day, floss daily, and avoid behaviors that could damage the crown, like chewing ice or using their teeth to open packages.
